The total laboratory tests conducted within 24 hours are 3693; of these 157 of them are confirmed positive for COVID-19 and the total confirmed cases as of today are 5846. Among the confirmed cases, 97 of them are male and 60 are female and their age ranges from 1 to 80 years old. One-hundred-fifty-six of the confirmed cases are Ethiopians and one is a foreign national. Among the cases, 132 of them are identified from Addis Ababa city administration, 5 from Amhara region, 5 from Dire Dawa city administration, 5 from Afar region, 3 from Tigray region, 3 from Somali region, 3 from Oromia region and 1 from Benishangul Gumuz region.
Among the total laboratory tests conducted, 52 (28 from health facility and 24 from community) of them were from samples collected from dead bodies 4 of which tested positive for COVID-19. Moreover, one person who was in treatment center has passed away. This brings the total death related to COVID-19 in our country to 103. We would like to pass our condolences to the families. Furthermore, 298 people (200 from Addis Ababa, 87 from Somali region, 9 from Amhara region, 1 from Oromia region and 1 from DireDawa city administration) recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recoveries to 2430.

The laboratory samples were collected from the high-risk community members, returnees/passengers at mandatory quarantine centers, contacts of the confirmed cases, health facility visitors and suspects at isolation centers.
