The total laboratory tests conducted within 24 hours are 4034; of these one-hundred-eighty-six (186) of them are confirmed positive for COVID-19 and the total confirmed cases as of today are 5034. Among the confirmed cases, 73 of them are male and 113 are female and their age ranges from 6 month to 75 years old. One-hundred-eighty-one of the confirmed cases are Ethiopians and five are foreign nationals. Among the cases, 147 of them are identified from Addis Ababa, 16 are from Somali region, 10 from Afar region, 8 from Dire Dawa City Administration, 4 from Oromia region, and 1 from SNNP region.
Among the total laboratory tests conducted, 35 (15 from health facility and 20 from community) of them were from samples collected from dead bodies two of which from health facility tested positive for COVID-19. Additionally, one person that was in treatment center has passed away. This brings the total death related to COVID-19 in our country to seventy-eight (78). We would like to pass our condolences to the families. The details of the deaths are presented below.

The Ministerial committee has indorsed a new Directive as per the State of Emergency to prevent, control and minimize the consequence of COVID-19. Accordingly, people who have tested positive can receive home care if they fulfill all of the requirements stated on the directive. Therefore, we would like to emphasize that those who receive home care for COVID-19 should take all necessary precautions to prevent the spread of the disease to other family members.
Furthermore, seventy-four (74) people (63 from Addis Ababa, 6 from Tigray region, 2 from Somali region, 2 from SNNP region and 1 from Harari region) recovered from the disease bringing the total number of recoveries to 1486.

The laboratory samples were collected from the high-risk community members, returnees/passengers at mandatory quarantine centers, contacts of the confirmed cases, health facility visitors and suspects at isolation centers.
